Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on August 8, 1989, in Paris. As a child she attended her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was just six when she made the decision to pursue a career as an actress. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford where she studied acting and singing. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach and school productions before she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The movie adaptation of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was filmed for very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were cast as the three lead characters Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. The film broke records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. Film critics praised the film as well as the performance of three leading young actors. The widely distributed British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. In the following days, Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her role in the film and was awarded the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in a Feature Film.
